For the third consecutive year, Tomorrow Today has partnered with Ray White Benalla to spread the spirit of giving at Christmas. The project, known as ‘A Little Ray of Giving’, encourages the community to donate a gift to a child who may not otherwise receive anything on Christmas day.

“This year has been a challenging year for everyone in Benalla. We were thrilled by the community’s response to this year’s Christmas Appeal. We have been inundated with donations of brand new toys, clothes, games, jewellery, watches, gift cards and refurbished bikes,” said Rosie Koop, Tomorrow Today’s Executive Officer.

“Each week our staff work with over one hundred Benalla families. We get to know them and find out who needs some extra support at Christmas time.  It was really heartwarming to hear from the friends and neighbours of people in need. They passed on the names of Benalla families who are finding it particularly tough this year,” said Ms Koop.

Delivering the gifts to local families was a highlight for Tomorrow Today.  “Parents were so grateful. No one wants a child to miss out on a present at Christmas. One parent, who received a refurbished bike thanks to the Benalla Men’s Shed, sent us a text that captures her gratitude: “Is this for real? I’m so shocked! A bike is what she wanted for Christmas and I just couldn’t afford one for her. Thank you so much. I’m so excited to get her a bike for her to enjoy being a kid.”

Ms Koop acknowledged the fantastic contributions of Ray White Real Estate, Vinnie’s Benalla, Beth’s Toy Shop, and the Benalla Men’s Shed in brightening Christmas for many young people.
