Young babies and children recently enjoyed splashing with their families on a visit to Benalla Aquatic Centre as part of the PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) Program.
PEEP is a free program run by Tomorrow Today Foundation for Benalla and district families with babies and young children up to school entry age.
All families across PEEP’s multiple age groups were invited to the Aquatic Centre to have some fun in the water, complete with songs, rhymes and games.
“Several families had never visited the Aquatic Centre before and they really enjoyed it,” PEEP Coordinator Cath Warnock said.
“It’s something we try to do at least once a year for all of our groups.”
Ms Warnock said the pool visit was just one of many events held locally for PEEP families throughout the year.
“We regularly visit the Art Gallery and the Library. We’ve also held sessions at the Lake and mural,” she said.
New sessions have recently been added to the PEEP timetable to meet increased demand. An extra session on Tuesday mornings and a new Friday morning group bring the total number of PEEP programs offered weekly to eleven.
Executive Officer of Tomorrow Today Foundation, Pat Claridge, acknowledged the wonderful support from partners such as Benalla Health and Benalla Rural City Council that has contributed to making expansion of the program possible.
