Members of the Benalla Bushwalking Club have provided many volunteer hours to help Tomorrow Today’s student mentor program, called Connect9, offering students involved in the program specially tailored bushwalks each year to places of local interest.
The Bushwalking Club recently further showed its support by donating $500 to be used to assist local young people to participate in the many activities conducted by Tomorrow Today as part of the massive Education Benalla Program. Tomorrow Today’s Education Benalla Program is on target to achieve its goal that Benalla’s children complete Year 12 and successfully transition on to complete their apprenticeship, diploma or degree.
“The goals that we have set – like raising $200,000 this year, and improving literacy levels by Grade 3 – are tough and demanding. It is the grassroots support that confirms to the Board that anything is possible,” Ms Gamble said.
