For parents and carers of children who are approaching ‘big school’, knowing whether their child is ready to take that next step can be a little daunting. Tomorrow Today’s Great Start to School program is designed to address those concerns and help parents and carers to get their child ready to start Prep.

“We’ve been delivering the Great Start to School program since 2013 and in that time we’ve helped hundreds of Benalla parents help their children feel more confident and ready to start school. We address things like establishing morning routines, separation anxiety, tips for assisting literacy and numeracy development, and the all-important – what to pack in their lunchbox!” explains Sally Matheson, Tomorrow Today’s Education Benalla Program Manager. The program includes a range of resources and checklists for families to refer back to. “The sessions are interactive and there is time for parents to share their experiences and concerns and get some reassurance for things that might be worrying them.”

The free program is open to parents and carers of children who are starting school in Benalla and district in 2024 and consists of two, two-hour sessions held on Friday 10 and 17 of November from 9am to 11am. Sessions will be held in three locations: Benalla P-12 Avon and Waller St Campuses and St Joseph’s Primary School.

To register for the program contact Sally Matheson at Tomorrow Today on 03 5762 1211 or email sallymatheson@tomorrowtoday.com.au. Registrations close Friday 3 November.
