Tim Birnie is bravely shaving off his beloved beard to support the Kingston Smith Memorial Fund and you can help him reach his fundraising goal!
After the devastating loss of her son, Kingston Smith, just before his third birthday in 2015, Madeleine Birnie and her family wanted to do something to honour his life. In conjunction with her parents, Brendan and Dianne Smith, and Tomorrow Today, she established the Kingston Smith Memorial Fund. Every year the fund supports early intervention programs that enhance the education, health and wellbeing of Benalla’s young children.
This year, Madeleine’s husband Tim is putting his beard on the line to raise money for the fund and he’s not far off his goal of $2,000.
“This cause is so close to our hearts;” explained Tim, “I really wanted to help keep Kingston’s memory alive by helping other young children in Benalla. We are very grateful to everyone who has donated so far and there’s still time if you’d like to donate to help me reach my goal.”
“Next Friday the 14th of August is D-Day,” said Madeleine, “Tim’s all psyched up for the big shave we just need a little more to get over the line.”
