The Benalla Racecourse was filled with the sound of happy children and Christmas carols as Tomorrow Today’s Parent’s Early Education Partnership (PEEP) hosted its end-of-year celebration last Wednesday evening. Over 300 people came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and festive vibes.

Santa made an appearance and was a patient listener to many a Christmas wish, and the Rotary Club of Benalla were on hand for the sausage sizzle.

The twilight event included a Graduation Ceremony for more than 20 PEEP children who will be starting Prep in 2024. Each child received their graduation certificate from Sally Matheson, Tomorrow Today’s Education Benalla Program Manager.

“It’s wonderful to see so many children here who have been attending PEEP since they were born, now ready to take the next step in their education journey. I know that they will be missed but that their time at PEEP will help them to have a positive school experience,” said Sally.

Board Chair, Louise Pearce came along to share the festivities. “This event is a lovely way for our families to socialise and connect with each other. We are very grateful to have the ongoing support of other local organisations and the wider Benalla community so that we can continue to do the work we do.”

The PEEP program runs 16 sessions every week of the school term and caters for newborns to 5-year-old children. Each session is a mix of singing, storytelling, guided activities and information sharing. The aim is to help parents and carers connect with one another and to support them in their role as their child’s first and most important ongoing educator. PEEP sessions will recommence in Term 1 2024.
